Property Tax
- An annual tax is levied each year on the full and true value of property taxable under AS 43.56. The tax on oil and gas property is the only statewide property tax; the valuation procedure focuses on three distinct classes of property -- exploration, production and pipeline transportation.
Property tax figures in the chart below do not include property tax paid to local governments, which was $236 million in FY 2007.
