AOGA Thanks President Biden, Congressional Delegation for Working
Together to Move Willow Project Forward

ANCHORAGE- May 27, 2021– The Alaska Oil and Gas Association today expressed
appreciation for President Biden, Department of Interior leadership, and Alaska’s Congressional
Delegation for working together and finding common ground on ConocoPhillips’ Willow
project.

“The Willow project is key to Alaska’s energy future and will bring new oil production and jobs
to our state,” said Patrick Bergt, AOGA’s regulatory and legal affairs manager. “The more our
leaders learn about Alaska’s strong track record of safe and responsible energy production, the
more they understand our commitment to it. No one cares more about protecting Alaska than
Alaskans.”

Oil production serves as Alaska’s economic engine, accounting for one-fourth of all jobs and
providing billions in revenue to state and local governments. Willow is predicted to provide
thousands of local jobs and 450-800 million barrels of recoverable oil, with peak production in
excess of 100,000 barrels of oil per day. The Bureau of Land Management estimates the project
will contribute $2.3 billion in State of Alaska revenue from production, property, and income
taxes, and $7.6 billion in federal royalty, income tax, and gravel sales.

AOGA is a professional trade association whose mission is to foster the long-term viability of
the oil and gas industry in Alaska for the benefit of all Alaskans. More information about the
